Upon arrival at the Kigali International Airport, You will be met by a speaking Private Trip representative driver/guide. You will have a brief meet and greet and learn about your safari. You will then be driven to your booked Hotel for your overnight stay. The journey should take around 2 hours. You can also arrange to stay the night in Kigali depending on the time of arrival at the airport.

Transfer to Virunga National Park for the first Gorilla Trekking. You have to be at Rwanda Development Board’s Office at 7 am for a short briefing on the do’s and don’ts during the gorilla trekking experience before you can depart to proceed with this adventure. Expect to make some amazing memories that will last a lifetime while trekking these gentle giants. Return to the lodge for an overnight reflecting on the unique experience of gorilla trekking you have had during the day.

Have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing on do’s and don’ts during Golden Monkey trekking by the Volcanoes National Park guides. After the Golden Monkey trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. Later in the evening, have a cultural visit to Iby’Iwacu village where you will have full evening entertainment of the cultural dances. Return to your accommodation for a well-deserved dinner, relishing the day’s extraordinary encounters with the golden monkeys and the local people.

Enjoy your breakfast and go and visit the twin lakes of Bulera & Ruhondo. These are beautiful lakes located at the base of the volcano Muhabura and close to the border with Uganda. They are surrounded by steep hills and large waterfalls with a backdrop of the Virunga volcanic mountains. These twin lakes are great spots to visit and used to be referred to as neglected gems. Their deep blue waters ringed by steep hills and tall waterfalls with the outlines of the nearby Virunga Volcanoes provide a spectacular backdrop. While here you will take a boat cruise and you will be able to spot different bird species. Later drive to Kigali town for an over night stay to wait for the exploration of Kigali city the next day.

Have an early breakfast, afterwards, head to the Kigali/Gisozi Genocide Memorial, a poignant but important historical site that provides insights into Rwanda’s past, Visit Markets like the Kimironko for a vibrant shopping experience, where you can buy local crafts, fabrics, and spices, and explore the Inema Arts Center, which showcases contemporary Rwandan art. You will later exit Kigali city and Drive to Kigali International Airport to catch your flight back home.
